Program Notes
Commissioned by the Columbus High School Band (Debra Burton, conductor) to have a multi-movement work with the option of speaking parts to include members of the school's theater department. The work stands on it's own without spoken parts. It was inspired by the classic Russian children's folktale of the same name.
